So, this has been a 4-month period of Serious Neglect to My Lovely Website.
O website, forgive me: te quiero mucho.
What's great is, I've been neglectful because of GOOD THINGS! Let's see...
1) A House of Skin and Bone
Back in April, Nettles Artists Collective premiered A House of Skin and Bone at PUNTO Space as part of its #puntogivesback initiative --okay, it wasn't the OFFICIAL premiere, which will take place in April 2017 between National Mental Health Awareness Month and National Poetry Month --this was a "work-in-progress presentation" (ahem, we had costumes and lights. It was a show, SANDIE LUNA: IT WAS A SHOW). We explored addiction and depression through the gorgeous language of the play (we spoke in poetry! It was physical theatre! My soul was fed!).
-Based on Loren Kleinman's book, The Dark Cave Between My Ribs &
-adapted for the stage by our wonderful directors, Sandie Luna and Montserrat Vargas.
-I played depressed poet protagonist Woman
-Puy Navarro played the alcoholic Mother &
-Ibsen Santos played a nebulous, promiscuous Man who embodies addiction and all the co-dependence and betrayal that comes with it.
Audiences were visibly moved, and beyond generous in the Q&A discussions that followed the workshop showings. They shared feedback, stories, experience. It was extremely gratifying to be part of this collaborative team.
Looking forward to sharing the next incarnation with you all when we mount the full production in April 2017!

We shot the promo trailer for Endotrend, the nearly-zero-waste festival happening in October.
What's an Endo,
<---- take a look. Things got goofy.
3) I'm working on a new piece. It's Part 1 of a larger project. There's music. That's all I'll say for now.
I'll be writing soon (way sooner than four months).
